There are basically an infinite number of playdough recipes, for all seasons, all themes, or for any occasion. Let's face it: NO COOK is the best (aint nobody got time for that!) Here is 16 no cook recipes (some I've tried, some I haven't gotten around to). Why is playdough a good thing for the little guys? Sensory exploration, cooking skills, math, measuring, science,

All the supplies are easy to get and affordable. You can get most at the grocery store, dollar store, or craft store. If your like me (with three wild boys at home) you are not trying to bring three monsters out into public. Amazon, amazon, amazon. Take it from me, prime is so worth it.

Stretchy Playdough

  • 1 cup conditioner

  • 2 cups corn flour

 

“Original” Playdough

  • 2 cups flour

  • 1 cup water

  • ½ cup salt

  • 2 TbSp oil

*Food coloring optional

 

Glittery Playdough

  • 2 cups flour

  • ½ cup glitter

  • ½ cup water

  • 2 Tbsp oil

*Food coloring optional

 

Scented Playdough

  • 2 cups flour

  • 1 cup water

  • ½ cup salt

  • 2 TbSp oil

  • 2 TbSp essential oil/scented shower gel

*Food coloring optional

 

Rock salt Playdough

  • 2 cups flour

  • 1 cup coarse salt

  • ½ cup water

  • 4 TbSp oil

*Food coloring optional

 

Christmas Playdough

  • Corn starch

  • Lotion

  • Liquid water color paint/ food coloring

  • Holiday scents: Vanilla extract, cinnamon spice, pumpkin spice, peppermint extract

*Glitter optional

 

Skittle Playdough

  • Skittles ¼ cup per color

  • 1 cup water

  • 2-3 cups flour

  • ½ salt

  • 3 TbSp cream of tartar

*Separate skittles into microwave safe jars and let sit overnight. Remove candy that hasn’t dissolved and microwave for 2-3 minutes. Mix colors into the bowls of dry mixes. If it is still sticky add more flour.

 

Fossil Playdough

  • 1 cup flour

  • ½ cup salt

  • 1 cup used coffee grounds

  • ½ cup- 1 cup cold coffee

 

Snow Playdough

  • 2 cups cornstarch

  • 1 ½ cup unscented white hand lotion

  • 2-3 drops peppermint essential oil

 

Strawberry Playdough

  • 2 cups corn starch

  • 1 cup strawberry scented hair conditioner

  • 2-3 drops red food coloring

 

Skin therapy Playdough

  • 1 cup flour

  • 1 cup water

  • 2 cups quick oats

  • 2 TbSp extra virgin coconut oil

  • 1 Tsp vanilla extract (optional)

  • 1 TbSp cocoa powder (optional)

*Mix oats and flour and vanilla, add water and stir. Knead in the coconut oil one TbSp at a tie. Knead in the cocoa powder. If it’s too sticky, add flour 1 TbSp at a time.

 

Star Wars Playdough

  • 4 cups flour

  • 1 ½ cup salt

  • 2 TbSp oil

  • 1 cup water

  • Gel food coloring (black, gray)

*Make several different shades of black and gray. Incorporate washers and screws into play to make Death Stars.

 

Softest Playdough

  • 1 part hair conditioner

  • 2 parts cornstarch

 

Fairy Playdough

  • Scented colored conditioner

  • 2 ½ cups cornstarch

  • Glitter

 

Carrot cake Playdough

  • 1 box of carrot cake mix

  • 2 cups of flour

  • 1 1/2 cups of salt

  • 6 tsp of cream of tartar

  • 6 TbSp oil

  • 3 cups of water

 

Cold water playdough

  • 1 cup cold water

  • 3 cups flour

  • 1 cup salt

  • 2 Tsp oil
