'Tis the Season to be Fall-y: Fall preschool activities

Grab your pumpkin spice b*tches, because fall is on it's way!

Yes, cliche-cliche.. I love fall and all it has to offer.

Pumpkins, apples, leaves, forgiving weather, and the smells.

Here are some awesome activities (and easy) to do this fall with your classroom or kids.

here are some quick links to items you may need:

Pumpkin spice clay: This is an easy 3 ingredient recipe that will probably require little to no shopping;

-1 15 oz can of pumpkin

-2-3 cups of corn starch

-2 tbsp of pumpkin pie spice

Directions:

Combine the canned pumpkin and the spice in a bow until the mixture is smooth. Slowly add corn starch and stir until the dough begins to form. Finish kneading with your hands. If it's at all sticky, add more corn starch. If you add too much corn starch, just add a tiny bit of water.

Pumpkin spice slime: This is a child all time favorite recipe; in any color or scent.

In one bowl combine:

-3/4 tsp of borax

-1 and 1/3 cups of very warm water

In a second bowl combine:

-2 cups white school glue

-1 and 1/2 cups of very warm water

-5-10 drops of orange food coloring

-1-2 tsp of pumpkin spice

Mix the content of both bowls individually and then combine

**Will stick to clothes and furniture- monitor play to avoid

Pumpkin moon sand: Moon sand is a fun and sensory pleasing way to enjoy the smells of fall

-4 cups of play sand

-2 cups of corn starch

-1-3 cups of water

-pumpkin spice

-orange food coloring

Directions:

Combine all ingredients and mix well. Start with one cup of water and add more if needed.

Pumpkin Volcano:

-One (or many) small gutted pumpkins

-Banking soda

-Orange food coloring

-Vinegar

Directions:

Previous to this activity gut the pumpkin. First add baking soda, then add some food coloring, and then add vinegar. The pumpkin with explode with orange fizz.

Leaf rubbings: Go outside and collect lots of different leaves with your little's. Put the leaves under white paper and use crayons or pastels to do a leaf rubbing. Tape them on the back for best no slip results. You can also use faux leaves

Leaf paintings: Using the leaves you gathered for leaf rubbings, tape them (small amount of tape to avoid ripping) to the front of some paint safe paper. Paint over the leaves. Once it's dry, remove the leaves. An outline will be left on the paper!

Leaf people, or animals: With many different shaped, sized, or colored leaves, children can use glue and paper to create leaf creatures or people. Or even just a leaf collage.

Pumpkin seed snack: Carve out a pumpkin, gather the guts, and pick out the seeds. Wash the seeds in a strainer and bake them. Season with salt and olive oil.

**More activities to be added, stay tuned**
